Books
If you have interesting books that should be saved in a good place, rather than simply donating to Goodwill, you can donate them to the Library of Congress. They ask that you do not send your items through USPS, as they will be irradiated and possibly damaged. Rather, send them only via FedEx or UPS to the address below. Inform them that your package has been shipped by contact them through their website. Include your full name and mailing address. If possible, provide the carrier’s name and tracking number.

Have you ever wondered where to take your old printer, or broken laptop? Have you ever felt guilty about putting spent light bulbs in the trash, wondering if there is better place for them?
Check with the waste water treatment facility of your city or town, or check with the local government, and ask if there are guidelines for disposing of home and workshop items properly.
This is the website with guidance for Milwaukee, Wisconsin: https://www.mmsd.com/what-you-can-do/home-haz-mat-collection.
