Repost from Paul Saladino:
What is up truthseeker,
If there ever was a piece of art that captured the Remembering it’s this mural by Banksy…
(Observant viewers will have seen it hanging on the wall of the Fundamental Health Podcast Studio here in Costa Rica)
I see this picture as a metaphor for modern life…
Because not not only have we forgotten where we’ve come from as humans, but in many cases we’ve done the equivalent of “power-hosed” the very things that make us thrive, right out of our lives.
I talk alot about species appropriate food, but what about species appropriate movement, nature, sunlight and community?
What about species appropriate dirt and water?
Have you considered the value these things could serve in terms of nourishing your soul, your spirit, your wellbeing… in accompaniment with nourishing your body?
Seeing the horizon is good for humans. Being in nature is good for humans. Eating organs and meat are good for humans. Getting real sunlight on your skin is good for humans…
Many of us live in a human zoo, but the doors to the cages are open…
We can choose to eat true species appropriate human food and refuse zoo food…
We can choose to move in wild spaces rather than stay in a cage…
We can choose to remember what it means to be a wild human rather than becoming soft in the comforts of a zoo…
I’m not saying modern society is all bad, just that we are wild human animals at heart.
And how many of us really understand the history of humans in the last 300, let alone the last 3000, let alone the last 300,000 years?
Is it not possible we’ve been socially conditioned to live our lives in a completely species-inappropriate manner?
I believe so.
Why spend our whole lives suffering, when instead we can remember?
We can become a part of this tribe of people.
People who go outside barefoot…
Watch the sunset and the stars…
Raise our children to be in nature…
Go in the water, jump in lakes and rivers…
Eat wild food and eat nose to tail.
It’s getting off digital freaking media…
It’s making sure that we communicate with people in real life.
It’s not about carnivore or animal-based…
It’s bigger than that… it’s the remembering .
Stay wild and free, not safe!
I hope you are doing something that truly nourishes your soul this weekend.
Paul
